Dear Friends,
Yes it's true. Slovenian people are somewhat extreme. One of us swam the length of the Yangtze River, another skied from the top of Mount Everest and Marija decided to come to China on her bike.
Some people think it's not worth it. A lot of people think it's nuts. At Esotech, we believe it's incredible - trying new things, appreciating the differences, proving that the only barriers and limits are inside our heads.
CREATING A BETTER WORLD by developing and implementing technologies for a sustainable environment, respecting people from different cultures and values, maintaining heritage from our ancestors in a peaceful and friendly way - this is what we stand for.
Marija's story began two years ago when she told her parents she needed to take a trip. A long one. They didn't understand at first, but they realized that this was HER way, so they agreed. After 9 months and 12 countries, she reached Beijing. She was astonished by the size of China and the differences between East and West, and she decided to stay for a while and get to know China better. After 5 months in Beijing, she is now riding her bike back to Slovenia.
Admirable courage, hard work, patience and persistence. "I was riding through tiny villages and mega-cities, through parts of this country where I didn’t meet a human being for a couple of hundred kilometers and then through parts where riding in the cities takes almost 100 km in itself. China, as I am experiencing it, is an enormous land with unbelievable distances and differences, and yet many great little things and moments which help me so much through each day. It seems everyone’s life is on the street, with people drinking tea and eating food on every corner. I developed a great admiration for the Chinese people, their friendliness, their practical ways of handling daily situations. I don’t know a lot of the language. When I entered the country it was hard, I also cried sometimes. But it’s over now. The language is not a barrier anymore; I can speak some Chinese but I also learned to communicate with people in so many other ways. As long as we laugh while I am drawing the map on the ground asking for directions, I feel being surrounded by friends. When I am on my bike, people smile at me and I get the greatest feeling above all: I am not alone! China gave me an experience I never thought of or expected. Day by day I’m learning how important that balance in life is, how to be patient and the most outstanding thing:
EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. As long as you go for it."

But I dream things that never were, and I say: Why not?” by G.B. Shaw
Marija reached Shanghai on April 18th 2007 and Esotech will be supporting her on her way back home.
We are proud to be a part of her journey with a great hope that this kind of adventures are bringing people together and that West is meeting the East in most friendly and interesting way possible.
